History of the
WEST VANCOUVER FIRE SERVICE
In 2004 the museum society started building what was to be a two car garage large enough to store two fire trucks out of the weather.
We ended up with a beautiful character building complete with an office, storage for two trucks, archive storage room, bathroom, kitchenette, display space and a work area with bench.
All situated in a natural garden setting.
The building is located in the British Properties area of West Vancouver.
It is behind the #4 Fire Station, located at 965 Cross Creek Road.
Access is along Cross Creek Road, passed #4 Fire Station, turn left onto Chartwell Drive (around the roundabout) and left again into Sentinel School. Drive into the parking lot towards the Fire Station and you should see the museum. Drive through the yellow gate and you are there.
We are very proud to say it was done with all volunteer labour, mostly from our members, including the garden.
We are open for visiters every Monday (9:30 until 4:00) or any time by appointment. The coffee is always on so please drop by.
